Team Yemen FGC is currently working on addressing a significant issue concerning Yemeni society, particularly given the prevailing circumstances resulting from the war. According to the December 2018 World Bank report, over two-thirds of the Yemeni population experience frequent power outages, while more than 50% have access to solar energy, which is not sustainable due to its unavailability at night. In light of this, the team is developing a model known as ISPHFCS (Integrated Solar Panel and Hydrogen Fuel Cell System) that combines solar energy with hydrogen fuel cells.

The team has devised a model featuring a solar panel that generates energy during the day, supplying the fuel cell with the necessary power to produce hydrogen and oxygen. The hydrogen is stored and later combined with oxygen by the fuel cell during the night, generating electricity. Consequently, this approach yields clean electricity that can operate day and night.

The team is dedicated to completing the testing of the model they have created, as they anticipate it will offer a suitable and affordable solution. This solution aims to enhance the production of clean electricity through an intelligent control system that optimally balances the utilization of solar energy and hydrogen fuel cells.

We, the Yemen team, love to share our ideas in robot design and provide solutions that other teams may benefit from. We are all one big family that helps each other.   The team has designed and programmed two robots with two different ideas to achieve the four goals of the First Global 2023 Championship in Singapore, which focuses on Hydrogen Horizon. These goals are as follows:  1. Production of green hydrogen.  2. Safe storage of hydrogen and oxygen produced from water electrolysis.  3. Safe transportation of hydrogen and oxygen to areas of utilization.  4. Conversion of hydrogen into a useful form of energy.  The robots perform these tasks in different ways. The first robot separates hydrogen atoms from oxygen through mechanical separation and then transfers them to the launcher, which throws the atoms into the hydrogen tank.
